Camiel Lemmens (1999) started in 2006 with music lessons at the Royal Windband Aurora in Grevenbicht (Limburg, The Netherlands). In this village his career started on Horn. In 2008, Camiel made his instrument choice: the French Horn! At the moment he had to choose his instrument, the association didn't have any hornplayers in the orchestra and in consultation with his parents he made his choice to the horn. At the musicschool Artamuse he started with lessons by teacher Jan Kitzen. He has studied at the Conservatory in Maastricht since 2018 with the teachers Willy Bessems and Will Sanders.

In September 2013, after an audition Camiel admitted as horn player at the young young Netherlands Wind Ensemble in the Hague led by Bart Schneemann and Willem van Merwijk. This was followed by the young Netherlands Wind Ensemble South in 2014 to 2016. And after a succesful audition in 2019 he has become hornist of the young Netherlands Wind Ensemble (have a look at the website of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble for more information). In addition to the various ensembles at the NBE, he played in the National Youth Fanfare Orchestra of 2015 to 2017, plays since autumn 2016 in the Netherlands Youth Orchestra and since 2017 in the Royal Windband of Thorn.

Camiel has already played on different stages. During the openair festival Viva Classic Live in Venlo in 2015 and 2018 he had collaborated with various fantastic national and international musicians such as Marco Bakker, Henk Poort, Ernst Daniël Smid, Anna Emelyanova, Susanne Hardick, Sef Thissen, Hector Sandoval, Antonello Palombi, Maria Luigia Borsi and Carel Kraayenhof and played 2 times a soloconcert with the South-Netherlands Philharmonic, once with a Wind Quintet in 2016 (consisting of the players Puck Brouwers, Liesbeth Rompelberg, Samuel Agustín Aguirre, Sophie Schreurs and Camiel) and a second time as soloist in 2017. Also he had made it through the semifinal of the Dutch Princess Christina competition in 2016 and 2018 and had become Dutch champion for wind instruments and soloists in 2017. Furthermore, Camiel has participated four times in the tv serie LEF! which was broadcast on the Limburg regional broadcaster L1.

Camiel loves to make music and therefore he takes every opportunity to make music for audience.
